Cricut Design Space is the free creative app that powers every Cricut machine. You create, customize, and send your designs to cut entirely within Design Space — available on desktop and mobile. It’s always free to download and use with your Cricut machine, regardless of your subscription level.

A free Cricut account is required to use Design Space. If you don’t have one yet, create yours at id.cricut.com before downloading.

Download and Install Design Space

Windows

System Requirements

• Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
• 4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB recommended)
• 2 GB available disk space
• Bluetooth 4.0 (for wireless machine connection) or available USB port

Installation Steps

1. Go to the Download Page

   Open your browser and navigate to cricut.com/setup. The site will detect your operating system automatically.

2. Download the Installer

   Click Download for Windows. The .exe installer file will save to your Downloads folder.

3. Run the Installer

   Double-click the downloaded .exe file. If Windows asks for permission to make changes, click Yes. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

4. Launch Design Space

   Once installation is complete, a Design Space icon will appear on your desktop. Double-click it to open the app, then sign in with your Cricut account credentials.

Mac

System Requirements

• macOS 11 Big Sur or later
• 4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB recommended)
• 2 GB available disk space
• Bluetooth 4.0 (for wireless connection) or available USB port

Installation Steps

1. Go to the Download Page

   Open Safari or your preferred browser and go to cricut.com/setup.

2. Download the Disk Image

   Click Download for Mac. The .dmg disk image file will download to your Downloads folder.

3. Open and Install

   Double-click the .dmg file to mount it. In the window that opens, drag the Cricut Design Space icon into the Applications folder.

4. Launch Design Space

   Open your Applications folder, then double-click Cricut Design Space to launch it. Sign in with your Cricut account.

iOS

System Requirements

• iOS 16 or later
• Compatible with iPhone and iPad
• Internet connection required

Installation Steps

1. Open the App Store

   On your iPhone or iPad, tap the App Store icon.

2. Search for Design Space

   Tap the Search tab at the bottom of the screen. Type Cricut Design Space in the search bar and tap Search.

3. Download the App

   Tap Get next to the Cricut Design Space result (the green leaf icon). Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password to confirm the download.

4. Sign In

   Once installed, tap the app to open it. Sign in with your Cricut account email and password.

Android

System Requirements

• Android 10 or later
• Compatible with phones and tablets
• Internet connection required

Installation Steps

1. Open Google Play Store

   Tap the Play Store icon on your Android device.

2. Search for Design Space

   Tap the search bar at the top and type Cricut Design Space, then tap the search icon.

3. Install the App

   Tap Install on the Cricut Design Space listing. The app will download and install automatically.

4. Sign In

   Open the app once installed and sign in with your Cricut account credentials.

Additional Notes

Design Space requires an active internet connection to access your saved projects, images library, and fonts. However, once you’ve loaded a project, some editing and basic functions remain available if your connection drops temporarily.

Enable automatic updates on your device so Design Space always stays current with the latest features, bug fixes, and compatibility updates for new Cricut machines.

Troubleshooting Installation

What if Design Space won't install?

If Design Space fails to install or won’t open after installation, try the following steps:

1. Uninstall the existing version first. On Windows, go to Settings → Apps and remove Cricut Design Space. On Mac, drag it from Applications to Trash. Then re-download a fresh copy.
2. Temporarily disable antivirus software. Some antivirus programs block the installer from running. Disable your antivirus, run the installer, then re-enable it once installation completes.
3. Verify system requirements. Confirm your device meets the minimum OS, RAM, and storage requirements listed above. Design Space will not install on unsupported systems.
4. Try the offline installer. Visit cricut.com/setup and look for the offline installer option — this version bundles all components and can resolve issues caused by interrupted downloads.
